Oracle Fusion HCM Product Owner – Corporate IT


Job Summary

The Oracle Fusion HCM Product Owner within Corporate IT owns the enterprise Oracle Cloud HCM platform and is accountable for ensuring it effectively supports the organization’s HR strategy, operational excellence, compliance requirements, and evolving employee experience—including the responsible adoption of AI-enabled capabilities.

This role serves as the primary liaison between HR leadership, Corporate IT, and external vendors, driving a stable, scalable, and intelligent HCM ecosystem. The Product Owner defines the product vision, manages the platform roadmap, prioritizes enhancements, and ensures successful delivery and adoption of both foundational and AI-powered Oracle HCM capabilities across the enterprise.


Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the end‑to‑end Oracle Fusion HCM product vision and roadmap, including AI-enabled capabilities
  • Align HCM platform capabilities with business strategy, HR transformation goals, and workforce priorities
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for Oracle HCM product decisions and trade-offs


Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with HR COEs (HR Operations, Talent, Learning, Total Rewards, Payroll, Benefits)
  • Translate business needs into clear, prioritized HCM requirements and outcomes
  • Facilitate prioritization and decision-making across competing business needs


Backlog & Delivery Management

  • Own and prioritize the Oracle HCM enhancement, defect, and AI-adoption backlog
  • Define epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews in Agile or hybrid delivery models
  • Accept delivered functionality based on quality, value realization, and readiness


Oracle Fusion HCM Functional Ownership

  • Provide functional leadership across applicable Oracle HCM modules, including:
  • Core HR & Workforce Structures
  • Recruiting & Talent Management
  • Learning
  • Compensation
  • Payroll (US and/or Global)
  • Benefits
  • Time & Labor and Absence Management
  • Champion Oracle best-practice configuration and limit customizations


AI Enablement & Intelligent Automation

  • Enable and govern Oracle‑embedded AI capabilities across HCM modules, including:
  • Skills Cloud and skills‑based organization capabilities
  • AI‑driven recruiting (candidate matching and recommendations)
  • Personalized learning, career paths, and talent insights
  • Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) and Guided Journeys for employee self-service
  • Partner with HR leaders to identify high-value AI use cases that improve:
  • Hiring efficiency and candidate quality
  • Skill visibility and workforce mobility
  • Learning relevance and employee experience
  • Translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes, such as adoption, efficiency, and decision quality


Data Readiness, Governance & Responsible AI

  • Ensure enterprise data readiness required for effective AI outcomes, including:
  • High-quality worker, job, position, and skills data
  • Standardized talent and learning content structures
  • Apply responsible AI principles in HR technology:
  • Bias awareness and mitigation
  • Transparency and explainability
  • Appropriate human oversight in AI-assisted decisions
  • Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Security, and HR leaders to ensure compliance with labor and data privacy regulations


Release & Environment Management

  • Own the enterprise adoption strategy for Oracle quarterly releases, including AI enhancements
  • Lead impact assessments, regression testing, UAT coordination, and deployment readiness
  • Communicate release impact and value clearly to HR and business stakeholders


Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Ensure system stability, performance, and data integrity
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, and AI-related decisions
  • Support audits, SOX controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage relationships with Oracle, AMS partners, and implementation vendors


Change Management & Adoption

  • Partner with Change Management and HR teams to drive adoption of new capabilities
  • Set realistic expectations for AI-enabled features (what they do and do not automate)
  • Support training and enablement to promote trust, transparency, and responsible use


Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 6–10+ years of Oracle Fusion / Oracle Cloud HCM experience
  • 3+ years in a Product Owner, HCM Platform Owner, or Functional Lead role
  • Experience supporting Oracle HCM in a large, enterprise Corporate IT environment
  • Proven experience with post‑go‑live optimization and steady‑state operations


Functional & Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on Oracle Fusion HCM configuration experience
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Oracle HCM security and role-based data access
  • OTBI and BI Publisher reporting
  • HCM Extracts and integrations
  • Solid understanding of HR business processes and data governance


Skills

  • Enterprise product ownership and roadmap management
  • AI-enabled HR technology adoption and governance
  • Strong stakeholder influence and executive communication
  • Ability to balance innovation with platform stability and risk management
  • Comfortable operating in matrixed Corporate IT environments


Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle HCM Cloud certification(s)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO / PSPO) or Agile experience
  • Experience supporting global HR or multi-country payroll
  • Experience implementing or governing AI-enabled HR solutions

  • Reports to: Director of Business Applications, HR Technology, or Enterprise Systems
