Role: Oracle Data Architect ? Oil & Gas Data Hub Exp : 12+ yrs Location : Chennai Oracle Data Architect ? Oil & Gas Enterprise Data Hub Overview We are seeking a Principal Oracle Cloud Data Architect to champion the design, implementation, and management of a cutting-edge, large-scale Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) for a major oil & gas refinery. This strategic role is responsible for driving the entire data architecture lifecycle, leveraging the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform and its specialized services to achieve data integration, robust governance, enterprise-grade security, and advanced analytics enablement across critical domains including Refining Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Environmental Compliance. Key Responsibilities: Architecting the OCI Data Foundation ? Define the Strategic Architectural Blueprint: Establish the authoritative Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for the refinery?s EDH. This includes architecting the solution on OCI utilizing Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) or Autonomous Database (ADB) as the core analytical engine. ? Leverage Industry Data Models: Apply deep knowledge of Oil & Gas industry data standards to ensure the logical data model supports future enterprise-wide interoperability and adheres to best practices for asset and operational data. ? Enterprise Integration with Oracle Services: Lead the design and implementation of highly available data ingestion and integration pipelines using the full Oracle stack: Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) , Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) , and Oracle Goldengate (for real-time operational data capture) to synchronize SCADA, PI System, SAP (PM/MM/EHS), LIMS, and proprietary maintenance systems. ? Time-Series and Operational Technology (OT) Mastery: Design efficient structures and ingestion patterns within the ADW/Data Lakehouse architecture to handle high-velocity, high-volume time-series data from operational technology (OT) systems like the PI System . ? Data Governance & Quality Implementation: Implement foundational data quality, data governance, metadata management, lineage tracking, and master data management (MDM) frameworks using Oracle Data Catalog and related services to ensure a single source of truth. ? Security and Regulatory Compliance: Design and enforce refinery-grade, zero-trust data security models utilizing OCI features for encryption, key management, and robust access controls to meet strict compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, ISO 27001). ? Performance Optimization: Optimize the entire data architecture, including schema design, partitioning, and resource scaling within ADW/ADB, to deliver superior performance for batch, stream processing, and complex analytical workloads. Required Qualifications ? 10+ years of progressive experience in Data Architecture, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to implementing solutions using core Oracle technologies and the OCI platform. ? Expert-level command of the Oracle Data Ecosystem: Oracle Database (19c/21c) , Autonomous Data Warehouse/Database (ADW/ADB) , Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) , Oracle GoldenGate , and OCI Data Lakehouse methodologies. ? Deep industry experience with Oil & Gas operational systems, process data (SCADA/OT/Historian), and specialized data models for Refinery or Upstream/Midstream environments. ? Proven ability to design for and integrate with key industry systems: PI System/OSIsoft , and SAP Plant Maintenance (PM)/Materials Management (MM) . ? Current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Certification is highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications ? Direct experience with OCI services (e.g., OCI Data Flow, OCI Data Integration, OCI Streaming, OCI AI/ML Services). ? Experience in delivering solutions that support Predictive Maintenance and Digital Twin initiatives. ? Familiarity with cross-cloud integration patterns (Azure, AWS) from the OCI perspective.
