Operations Excellence Specialist

Here's the Deal

Provide continuous, onsite Operations Excellence support to the contract logistics site by tracking and analysing operational performance, diagnosing root causes of inefficiency, and delivering sustainable improvements using Lean methods. Act as the engineering lead for new customer implementations, layout optimisation, and site maturity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Track site KPIs, produce regular performance reports, identify trends versus targets, and present actionable insights to site leadership.
• Work with operations teams to map processes, collect data, run root-cause analysis, and design countermeasures using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, PDCA, standard work).
• Plan, pilot, and embed process changes; create implementation plans, train operators, and measure impact to ensure sustained gains.
• Support the business in deploying new processes at the site, ensuring readiness, training, and adoption.
• Analyze material flow and space utilization; propose and implement layout changes to reduce travel, improve throughput, and increase safety.
• Collaborate with the customer implementation team to map operational layouts and processes; ensure all processes are captured in clear SOPs and work instructions for new customer go-lives.
• Partner with regional and area OE to identify site maturity gaps and implement improvements aligned to the North Star framework.
• Periodically audit site processes against documented SOPs and work instructions and flag gaps to site leadership.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or related field. Lean Sigma Certification Advantageous
• Process mapping, time studies, data analysis (Excel/Power BI or equivalent), layout design, SOP authoring
• Strong stakeholder engagement, coaching and training ability, clear written and verbal communication, project management.
• Certifications (desirable): Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen facilitator, or equivalent.
