Job Role : Senior Azure Cloud Engineer Mode : Hybrid (3 days work from office/week) Experience Required : 6+ years total, with 3+ years hands-on in Azure (Mandatory) Notice Period : Immediate Joiners Client : Multinational Brewing Company Role Summary We are hiring a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to support infrastructure modernization, migration readiness, and cloud governance for enterprise environments. You will work closely with platform leads and DevOps teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-efficient infrastructure delivery. Must-Have Skills & Required Depth Azure Core IaaS (VMSS, VNets, Storage, ExpressRoute) : Must have deployed and configured production-grade virtual networks with subnets, NSGs, routing tables, and connectivity over ExpressRoute or VPN. Should have built HA configurations using VMSS and diagnosed traffic latency/throughput issues. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep) : Must have modified or maintained reusable infrastructure modules for resource groups, VNETs, route tables, and firewall rules. Scripting : PowerShell or Bash - Must have created automation scripts for provisioning compute/network resources, applying policy updates, and triggering backups. Scripts should include logging, basic error handling, and idempotency (where applicable). Azure Governance : Policy, RBAC, Defender - Must have applied built-in and custom Azure Policies to enforce tagging, SKU selection, and security configurations. Experience in assigning RBAC roles at resource and group levels, understanding of IAM inheritance, and familiarity with Defender alerts is expected. Azure Migrate / Azure Arc : Exposure to running discovery assessments using Azure Migrate. Should have validated OS version compatibility, patch levels, and generated reports for LIFT migration waves. Azure Backup & DR Runbooks : Must have configured Recovery Services vaults, retention policies, and backup schedules. Should have assisted with runbook creation for backup validation and basic DR drills. CI/CD Tools (Azure DevOps or GitHub) : Should have contributed to or executed release pipelines, integrated IaC deployment stages, and managed build artifacts. Not expected to write full YAML pipelines, but must be comfortable with GUI-based stages and repo branching strategies. Documentation / SOP Authoring : Must have created as-built diagrams, operational runbooks, and cloud deployment documentation. Should be comfortable translating infrastructure steps into repeatable support processes for platform teams. Nice-to-Have Skills Azure Bicep - Ability to read and modify parameterized templates for simple resources (VNETs, NSGs, storage) Azure Functions / AKS / Serverless - Awareness of deployment patterns; optional familiarity with container-readiness assessments Azure ASR (Disaster Recovery) - Knowledge of replication policies and DR region setup; participation in mock DR exercises preferred Python - Ability to write basic automation scripts or CLI wrappers for DevOps integration Certifications (AZ-104 / AZ-305) - Preferred to validate hands-on knowledge and role alignment (ref:hirist.tech)
