Scope
Network Engineer II supports the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of Dentsply Sirona’s global network infrastructure. The role is a key contributor to the Global Networking Team, driving excellence in network operations and contributing to the overall success of Dentsply Sirona’s IT initiatives.

Scope
Network Engineer II supports the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of Dentsply Sirona’s global network infrastructure. The role is a key contributor to the Global Networking Team, driving excellence in network operations and contributing to the overall success of Dentsply Sirona’s IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Participate in network architecture reviews and contribute to the development of scalable and resilient network designs.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement network upgrades, expansions, and migrations across all Dentsply Sirona locations while minimizing impact to the business.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, Dentsply Sirona Policies and Standards in all network designs and implementations.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative network solutions.
- Network Operations and Maintenance:
- Respond to incidents and service requests related to network connectivity and performance in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain network performance, troubleshoot issues, and assist with the implementation of solutions to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Assist in the maintenance of a complete and accurate inventory is maintained for all networking assets.
- Ensure support and maintenance contracts are applied to assets based on Dentsply Sirona’s Policy and Standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure continual compliance with Dentsply Sirona Policy and Standards related to network operations and security.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other Technical Service teams (Engineering, Reginal, and Local IT), Global IT Security, IT Compliance, Application teams, to support business initiatives.
- Communicate network status, project updates, and technical recommendations effectively to stakeholders and team members.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions on network architecture, design reviews, and project planning.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Key Required Skills, Knowledge, And Capabilities
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Cisco Networking Technologies: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco networking products and technologies, including routers, Catalyst and Nexus switches, ASA and FTD firewalls, Catalyst wireless controllers and access points.
- Routing Switching Protocols: Proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. Understanding of switching concepts including VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching.
- Experience in packet capture analysis and network performance monitoring. (SolarWinds Orion experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of scripting/automation tools is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences
- Cisco certifications preferred.
- English - Advanced (C1), any other language is an advantage.
- 3-5 Years relevant Experience
- Internationally and culturally aware
- Exceptional Analytical thinking with effective judgment and decision-making capabilities
