Network Engineer

Location: Remote (United States)

Employment Type: Contract

Visa Sponsorship: H1B Transfer / New H1B (if applicable)


Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure in a remote US-based environment. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and performance of network systems across cloud and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks
  • Manage routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Support firewall configuration and security policies (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and outages
  • Work with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP VPC/VNET setup and peering)
  • Implement VPN solutions (IPSec, SSL VPN, site-to-site connections)
  • Collaborate with DevOps and system teams for infrastructure integration
  • Perform network capacity planning and optimization
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change records
  • Participate in on-call rotation for incident response

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–8+ years of experience in network engineering or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, subnetting
  • Experience with Cisco / Juniper / Arista networking equipment
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security tools
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS/Azure preferred)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CCNA / CCNP / JNCIA / AWS Advanced Networking
  • Experience in SD-WAN technologies (Cisco SD-WAN, Versa, etc.)
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Exposure to zero trust network architecture
  • ITIL process understanding
