Network Delivery Engineer - Job Description
The Lubrizol Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a market-driven global company serving customers in more than 100 countries. We own and operate manufacturing facilities in 17 countries, as well as sales and technical offices around the world. Through our global sales and manufacturing networks, we are able to deliver the products and services our customers need, where and when they need them. At Lubrizol, our mission is straightforward: We improve lives as an essential partner in our customers’ success, delivering efficiency, reliability, or wellness to their end users.
Lubrizol is looking for a Network Delivery Engineer to join our IT team who will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of network solutions, ensuring projects are designed, implemented, tested, and handed over to operations in line with business, security, and service requirements. The role bridges network design, project delivery, and operational readiness, working closely with architecture, security, vendors, and operations teams. This is an exciting time to join our organization, as we have a renewed focus on ensuring operational excellence, reliable connectivity and cyber security within the organization – given this, we’re looking for motivated problem solvers who enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative team environment to support growth and development in these areas.
Core Responsibilities
Deployment & Design Implementation: Deliver LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Centre, and Cloud connectivity solutions aligned to approved designs and standards. Implement network changes including new site deployments, migrations, upgrades, and decommissions. Configure and deploy network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers). Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience in all delivered solutions.
Project Delivery & Change Management: Own network delivery activities for assigned projects from initiation to handover. Work with Project Managers to meet delivery timelines, scope, and quality expectations. Produce and maintain delivery documentation including HLD/LLD, implementation plans, and rollback procedures. Raise, review, and implement changes through formal change control (CAB) processes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Collaborate with internal teams (Architecture, Security, Operations, Cloud, Applications). Coordinate with third-party vendors, MSPs, and telecom providers for circuit delivery and on-site works. Act as the technical point of contact during delivery phases.
Security & Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with security policies, regulatory standards, and best practices. Implement security controls including segmentation, firewall rules, VPNs, and access controls. Support security reviews, audits, and vulnerability remediation activities.
Operational Readiness & Continuous Improvement: Identify delivery risks and proactively propose mitigation strategies. Contribute to standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Providing technical support, resolving incidents, and acting as an escalation point for complex network problems whilst working with Network Operations team. Support major incidents related to delivered solutions when required.
Testing, Validation & Handover: Conduct pre-deployment testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation validation. Ensure monitoring, alerting, and operational support requirements are embedded prior to handover. Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to Network Operations team.
