About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with specialized expertise in loan management and servicing platforms to join our dynamic team at Boltin. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of loan lifecycle management, including loan origination, servicing, collections, and compliance reporting. This role involves leading the development and enhancement of our enterprise loan management systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, business analysts, and quality assurance to deliver high-quality solutions that drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall software development experience with 4+ years hands-on in loan management / loan servicing platforms
  • Proven expertise in loan servicing module development on enterprise Loan Management System (LMS) platforms
  • Experience working in consumer lending (personal loan, two-wheeler, auto, home loan) and/or commercial lending (SME, LAP, equipment finance, working capital)
  • Exposure to Australian vehicle and equipment finance — chattel mortgage, finance lease, hire purchase, and novated lease servicing
  • Strong understanding of settlement processing, payout figure calculation, and disbursement handling
  • Proficiency in developing repayment schedule engines supporting EMI, P&I, balloon, interest-only, and irregular repayment structures
  • Experience with payment processing systems including direct debit, ECS/NACH/auto-debit with dishonour handling and retry logic
  • Knowledge of arrears and overdue management, including automated dunning, escalation, and hardship variation processes
  • Familiarity with collections workflows such as bucket-wise staging, field collections, legal referral, and enforcement tracking
  • Experience in NPA classification, repossession, asset surrender, and security enforcement
  • Understanding of write-off procedures, provisioning, deficiency balances, and recovery posting
  • Knowledge of charge and hypothecation registration, search, and release processes
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, credit bureau integration, and maintaining compliance-driven audit trails

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex loan management modules within our enterprise LMS platform. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of loan servicing modules, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement and optimize repayment schedule engines supporting various repayment structures such as EMI, interest-only, balloon, and irregular payments.
  • Develop and enhance payment processing functionalities, including direct debit, ECS/NACH, and auto-debit systems, along with dishonour handling and retry logic.
  • Manage arrears, overdue, and collections workflows, including automated dunning, escalation procedures, and legal referrals.
  • Oversee settlement processing, payout calculations, disbursement handling, and security enforcement activities.
  • Implement features for NPA classification, repossession, asset surrender, and charge registration processes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through accurate reporting, credit bureau integration, and comprehensive audit trails.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and ensure our systems remain at the forefront of the industry.
