Role Overview

We are looking for a GNC Engineer specializing in Navigation and Estimation to manage the mathematical and predictive core of our tracking systems. This role focuses on the back-end of the pipeline: converting optical observations into precise spatial coordinates, trajectories, and dynamic motion models.


Key Responsibilities

  • Spatial Mathematics: Implement complex 3D coordinate transformations, conversion between multiple reference frames (Earth-referenced and inertial), and utilize rotation matrices, quaternions, and spherical geometry.
  • Position & Orientation Computation: Derivation of geographic or spatial position and orientation from angular optical measurements.
  • Trajectory Estimation: Estimate velocity and acceleration from time-series data and reconstruct trajectories using multi-frame triangulation and kinematic models.
  • Advanced Filtering: Implement and tune predictive tracking algorithms using Kalman Filters (EKF, UKF) or particle filters.
  • Error Modeling: Conduct robust error propagation, stability analysis, and bias correction to compensate for systematic and environmental effects.
  • Simulation & Validation: Develop synthetic datasets and simulations of optical systems to validate algorithm performance under both controlled and real-world stress tests.


Technical Qualifications

  • Mathematical Foundation: Strong command of linear algebra, numerical methods, and statistical modeling/uncertainty estimation.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in C/C++ or Python for efficient numerical implementation.
  • System Design: Ability to develop clean, modular, production-grade code for sensor fusion and complex estimation tasks.
