Sr. Software Engineer (Full-Stack) eBay is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) with 8?10 years of professional experience to join our team. This role requires a strong technical leader with proven expertise in architecting backend services and delivering scalable front-end applications . You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing systems that support eBay?s global platform, ensuring performance, reliability, and security at scale. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and front-end applications that power eBay?s next-generation systems. System Design: Drive architectural decisions, ensuring system scalability, security, and fault tolerance. Full-Stack Ownership: Work across the stack?developing RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and intuitive front-end interfaces. Collaboration: Partner with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Best Practices: Champion coding standards, secure development practices, and CI/CD automation. Mentorship: Guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, modern frameworks, and emerging technologies to continually improve eBay?s engineering practices. Qualifications Education Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). Experience 8?10 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in full-stack development. Proven track record of architecting backend services and designing high-performance systems. Technical Skills Backend: Expertise in Node.js, Java, or similar backend frameworks. Strong experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and OpenAPI Specification for API design and documentation. Frontend: Proficiency with React.js (or similar modern frameworks) and strong UI/UX sensibilities. Identity & Access Management: Hands-on experience with SCIM, OIDC, and OAuth2 for authentication, authorization, and identity federation. Databases: Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases. Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure or Private cloud as well as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Security & Performance: Strong grasp of secure coding practices, scalability, and performance optimization. Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows. Soft Skills Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment. Problem-solver with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset.
