Mobile Application Developer

Whoosh is an innovative and growing payment-solutions provider, based in Pretoria.

The company is currently seeking an intermediate to advanced-level Mobile App Developer to join the team on a contract basis.

Working closely with the company's in-house Designer and Development Team, the Developer will be primarily responsible for transforming Whoosh’s product offerings into high-quality mobile solutions.

The position is remote within South Africa. The successful candidate may opt to work from the company's offices in Wapadrand, Pretoria. In person meetups may be required from time to time, such as for all-hands gatherings.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of:

• Angular
• Frameworks: Ionic (preferred), Flutter (beneficial). (Please note: The company is open to recommendations from candidates invited to interview regarding framework choice. Ionic is preferred due to the company’s tech stack.)
• iOS and Android development
• JavaScript
• TypeScript
• SQL
• Node.js
• API integrations
• Cloud services (Google Cloud Platform)
• South African payments industry (advantageous)
• Finance industry (advantageous)

Ideal candidates will:

• Be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with management and teammates.
• Be capable of managing their workload and time, in a remote environment.
• Be proactive.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
