About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced *Mine Surveyor* to join our open-cast coal mining project in Chandrapur/Bhadravati, Maharashtra. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out all mine surveying activities, ensuring accurate measurement of excavation, overburden (OB), coal quantities, stockpiles, and mine development to support production, planning, and contractor billing.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct topographic, pit progress, and production surveys in open-cast coal mines.

* Establish and maintain survey control points and benchmarks.

* Perform pre-blast and post-blast surveys.

* Survey coal benches, overburden benches, dumps, haul roads, and stockpiles.

* Mark excavation limits, dump boundaries, haul road alignments, and mine infrastructure.

* Calculate overburden (OB), coal, and stockpile volumes using survey data.

* Verify excavation quantities for contractor billing and monthly reconciliation.

* Prepare contour maps, Digital Terrain Models (DTM), cross-sections, and longitudinal sections.

* Generate monthly progress reports, quantity reports, and mine plans.

* Download, process, and validate field survey data.

* Ensure survey accuracy by checking instrument calibration and survey closures.

* Coordinate with Mine Planning, Geology, Production, Safety, and Contractor teams.

* Maintain survey records and statutory documentation as per DGMS guidelines.

Required Technical Skills

* Strong knowledge of open-cast coal mine surveying.

* Experience with Total Station, DGPS/RTK GPS, Auto Level, and Digital Level.

* Proficiency in volume calculations, contour generation, and quantity reconciliation.

* Knowledge of traverse surveys, leveling, and survey control establishment.

* Experience in contractor billing measurements and verification.

* Ability to prepare mine plans, sections, and survey reports.

Software Skills

Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:

* AutoCAD

* AutoCAD Civil 3D

* Surpac

* MineScape

* Trimble Business Center

* Leica Geo Office

* Carlson Survey

* ArcGIS/QGIS

* Microsoft Excel and MS Office

Educational Qualification

* Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Survey Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geomatics, or an equivalent discipline.

Experience

* Minimum *4–5 years* of experience in open-cast coal mine surveying.

* Experience in contractor billing, quantity verification, and mine planning support is preferred.

Required Certifications

* DGMS Vocational Training Certificate (as applicable).

* Total Station/DGPS Survey Training Certificate.

* Mine Survey Training Certificate.

* Valid First Aid Certificate (preferred).

* Any statutory certificates required for working in coal mines.
