Microsoft Fabrics with SQL DBA

About the Role CyberTech is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our 24x7 database support team servicing Client's enterprise database landscape. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric, supporting MSSQL-dominant environments, Oracle databases, and Client's strategic migration to Microsoft Fabric platform. Responsibilities Provide 24x7 L2/L3 database administration support for MSSQL (primary), Oracle, and Microsoft Fabric environments Monitor and maintain high availability (99.9%+ uptime) of business-critical databases using ServiceNow Perform installations, configurations, upgrades, patching, backup/recovery, and security management Design and implement Microsoft Fabric solutions: OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, lakehouse architecture Manage data migration from traditional databases to Fabric; optimize capacity and workspace governance Conduct advanced performance tuning: execution plans, query optimization, blocking/deadlock resolution Implement and validate HA/DR solutions: AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication Perform root cause analysis for outages with documented recommendations and preventive measures Handle escalations, coordinate incident response, and ensure proper shift handovers Develop PowerShell/T-SQL/Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and self-service provisioning Provide technical mentoring to DBA team members and lead knowledge sharing sessions Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) SLA adherence and database availability Incident resolution time and first-time fix rate Quality of root cause analysis and documentation Successful completion of maintenance windows and migrations Reduction in recurring incidents through automation Customer satisfaction ratings Experience 7-10 years in database administration with enterprise production support Minimum 5 years deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+, including 2019/2022) 2+ years with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks) Proven 24x7 production support experience with high-availability requirements Technical Skills Microsoft SQL Server (Must have) MSSQL architecture, performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication (Transactional/Merge) Extended Events, Query Store, DMVs, index tuning, wait statistics SSRS, SSIS, SSAS Backup strategies, recovery models, point-in-time recovery Database security: TDE, Always Encrypted, Row-Level Security Microsoft Fabric (Must have) Hands-on with Fabric components: OneLake, Data Engineering (Spark), Data Warehouse, Data Factory Lakehouse architecture, medallion patterns, Delta Lake PySpark notebooks, data pipeline orchestration Fabric capacity management, workspace governance Power BI integration and DirectLake mode Core Competencies Exceptional troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Strong communication in English for global collaboration Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents Self-motivated with minimal supervision required Mentoring and knowledge sharing capabilities Willingness to work 24x7 rotational shifts including weekends and holidays Preferred Qualifications One or more of the following certifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) ITIL 4 Foundation Work Environment and Shift Details Shift Pattern: 24x7 rotational shifts including weekends and holidays
