Job Overview:

The QC Microbiologist is responsible for performing microbiological sampling, testing, and environmental monitoring of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and cosmetic products in compliance with approved SOPs. The role ensures accurate documentation, bioburden control, and adherence to GMP and GLP standards, while supporting R&D activities, proficiency testing, and training of junior staff to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.

Job Description:

·        Perform microbiological sampling of raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and stability samples as per SOPs and testing instructions.

·        Conduct microbiological analysis of extract powders, raw materials, in-process samples, finished products including tablets, capsules, churnas, liquids, vendor samples, R&D samples, and cosmetic products.

·        Perform daily solution bioburden testing, including total microbial count, coliform count, and spore count, in accordance with SOPs.

·        Carry out random microbiological testing and maintain complete and accurate records.

·        Prepare, maintain, and review analytical data sheets for extract powders, raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, vendor samples, R&D samples, and cosmetic products.

·        Conduct environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, laboratories, production areas, and other controlled environments to ensure hygiene and contamination control.

·        Perform weekly fumigation of microbiology laboratories, production areas, and cosmetic manufacturing sections.

·        Support the preparation and testing of microbiology proficiency testing materials for food and water schemes.

·        Participate in research and development activities related to microbial control and product formulation when required.

·        Provide training, guidance, and technical support to junior scientists and laboratory technicians.

·        Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, safety guidelines, and internal quality systems.

Qualifications:

·        Strong knowledge of microbiological testing and environmental monitoring.

·        Good documentation and analytical skills.

·        Familiarity with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

·        B.Sc / M.Sc in Microbiology or related life sciences.

·        Experience- 2- 3 years
