Role Description

• The Mechanical Engineer role at RSB PROJECTS PRIVATE LIMITED is a full-time, on-site position based in Dahej, Gujrat.

Roles & Responsibilities of Mechanical Engineer

(Structural Steel Erection & UG Piping Works)

1. Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute structural steel erection and UG piping activities as per approved construction schedule.
• Study IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and method statements before execution.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Ensure availability of manpower, machinery, materials, and tools prior to commencement of work.
• Monitor work progress and take corrective actions to achieve project milestones.

2. Structural Steel Erection

• Supervise fabrication, assembly, and erection of structural steel as per approved drawings.
• Verify anchor bolt locations, foundation levels, and alignment before steel erection.
• Ensure proper sequence of erection to maintain structural stability.
• Monitor bolt tightening (torquing), fit-up, alignment, plumbing, and leveling.
• Coordinate crane operations and lifting activities for safe erection.
• Ensure compliance with erection tolerances and engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with survey team for line, level, and alignment checks.

3. Underground Piping Works

• Supervise excavation, trench preparation, pipe laying, fabrication, welding, and backfilling activities.
• Verify pipe routing, invert levels, slope, and alignment as per approved drawings.
• Ensure proper fit-up, welding, flange alignment, and joint preparation.
• Coordinate hydro testing, pneumatic testing, flushing, and reinstatement works.
• Ensure proper installation of supports, thrust blocks, sleepers, and protective coatings/wrapping.
• Monitor installation of valves, fittings, and special piping components.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Conduct stage-wise inspections before offering work for client inspection.
• Verify welding procedures, WPS/PQR compliance, and welder qualifications.
• Ensure all inspection requests (IRs), checklists, and quality documentation are maintained.
• Monitor rectification of punch points and NCRs until closure.
