Requisition Summary

PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the design development and Integration of vehicle chassis frame.

As a Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR, your expertise will be leveraged in Layout development, component packaging, installation drawing, and coordination with cross functional team to ensure frame & components are installed safely, efficiently and compliant with technical requirements. Job Function / Responsibilities

  • Vehicle frame layout development, including mounting systems, brackets, and interfaces.
  • Preparation of 3D CAD design and create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, BOM creation.
  • Routing and packaging of auxiliaries such as exhaust, cooling lines, hoses, wiring, and fuel lines.
  • Perform calculations related to clearances, envelopes and mass properties.
  • Work on large assemblies, including effective use of simplified representations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.

The Primary Function For This Position Includes

  • Execution on CAD – sheetmetal, advance modeling and assembly, drawing.
  • NX & Teamcenter proficiency
  • Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T, and Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Design of frame & its components and mountings.
  • Collaborate with team members and execute the design activity.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering

Required Skills

  • 1-4 years of hands‑on experience in Mechanical engineering.
  • Familiar with chassis systems and interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of sheet‑metal design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.
  • Basic/intermediate understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and engineering drawing practices.
  • Knowledge of tool clearance and ergonomic assessments.
  • Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams

Desired Skills

  • ECR/ECN release system will be an added advantage.
  • Familiar with truck systems and components
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
  • Familiar with validation, test procedures and issue resolution
