Mechanical Development Engineer

We are looking for passionate and hands-on Product Development Engineers to join our R&D Centre (CRI) at Noida. The role involves end-to-end development of domestic appliances through a structured NPI process, working closely with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and external laboratories.

🔹Key Responsibilities

• End‑to‑end development of domestic appliances and BOM parts, including:

* Plastic & metal parts

* Electrical & mechanical sub‑assemblies

* PCBAs and packaging components

• Execution of product development through a stage‑gate NPI process
• Prototype planning, development and validation
• Development and coordination of tooling (moulds & dies) (preferred, not mandatory)
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities
• Design and development of jigs & fixtures
• Interaction with test labs, certification agencies and suppliers
• Value Engineering initiatives for cost and performance optimization

🔹 Technical Skills Required

• Ability to read, interpret and work with 2D drawings and 3D CAD data
• Working knowledge of: Manufacturing & assembly processes
• Engineering materials: plastics, rubber, metals & packaging materials
• Understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, DFA, GD&T, DFSS
• Knowledge of IEC, BIS, ISO standards applicable to domestic appliances
• Experience with PLM, ERP and project management tools (any)

🔹 Functional Skills Required

• Hands‑on experience in design & development of domestic appliances
• Preparation/modification of:
• Drawings, specification sheets, BOMs
• Circuit diagrams, exploded views, manuals
• Knowledge of development quality tools and process quality tools
• Understanding of regulatory and certification requirements
• Product tear‑down analysis and report preparation
• Strong root‑cause analysis capability for design/manufacturing issues
• Basic understanding of part & product costing and value engineering
• Ability to develop components and sub‑assemblies independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder coordination

🔹Experience & Education

Education: Full‑time B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Range: 4–10 years of relevant product design & development experience

Industry Background: Domestic Appliances (Water Heaters / Small Appliances preferred)
