Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in construction equipment management may also be considered

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant & Machinery operations in construction projects, preferably high-rise residential or commercial building projects

Role Overview

The Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Plant & Machinery (P&M) will be responsible for managing day-to-day plant and machinery operations at the construction site, ensuring availability, proper functioning, and efficient utilization of construction equipment.

The role involves coordinating with project execution teams, equipment operators, and service vendors to ensure timely deployment, maintenance, and safe operation of machinery required for construction activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlant & Machinery Operations

Oversee daily operations of construction machinery and equipment at the project site.
Ensure proper deployment and utilization of machinery required for various construction activities.
Monitor equipment availability to support continuous site execution.

Equipment Coordination

Coordinate with civil execution teams and project management to understand machinery requirements for different construction stages.
Ensure timely mobilization and relocation of equipment across work fronts.
Support planning for future machinery requirements based on project schedules.

Machinery Maintenance

Monitor implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for site equipment.
Coordinate with equipment technicians and service vendors for repair and maintenance activities.
Ensure minimal equipment downtime and improved operational reliability.

Equipment Monitoring & Utilization

Track daily equipment utilization and operational performance.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce idle machinery time.
Monitor fuel consumption and operational efficiency of equipment.

Safety Compliance

Ensure all plant and machinery are operated in compliance with safety standards and site safety regulations.
Conduct periodic equipment safety inspections.
Ensure operators follow safe operating procedures and equipment guidelines.

Vendor & Operator Coordination

Coordinate with equipment operators, technicians, and external service providers.
Ensure machinery operators are trained and competent in equipment operations.
Monitor performance of equipment rental vendors and service contractors.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
Track equipment deployment, utilization, and downtime.
Prepare daily and weekly machinery reports for the P&M Manager.

Technical Skills Required

Good knowledge of construction equipment and machinery used in building construction
Experience handling equipment such as tower cranes, passenger/material hoists, batching plants, concrete pumps, bar bending machines, bar cutting machines, compressors, and other construction equipment
Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Familiarity with equipment safety standards and operational procedures
Proficiency in MS Excel and equipment tracking systems
