The role

As an Analyst at Parallel Side Studio, you won't be attached to one business but will work across a portfolio. In a single quarter you might screen an investment for Optional Gravity, size a market for a new retail venture, and build the pricing model for one of our portfolio companies. 

Key Description

• Sourcing & Screening: Source and screen new investment opportunities; filter inbound pitches to surface high-potential early-stage startups and manage the pipeline.
• Sector Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive market intelligence on target sectors, including market size, growth drivers, macroeconomic trends, and the competitive landscape.
• Due Diligence: Lead qualitative and quantitative due diligence on target companies, digging into founding teams, product-market fit (PMF), and operational metrics.
• Financial Modeling: Perform financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation analysis - including cap table models, return scenarios, and lightweight projections for pre-revenue and early-revenue companies.
• Transaction Execution: Support the execution of new investments by acting as the bridge between principals, partners, founders, legal counsel, and accountants.
• Deal Documentation: Prepare and organise materials for legal and financial review, including investment memos, presentations, term sheets, SAFEs, convertible notes, and shareholder agreements (SHAs).
• Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor portfolio performance and review financial statements to support data-driven decisions.
• Founder Relations: Maintain ongoing relationships with portfolio founders and proactively identify strategic follow-on opportunities.
• Compliance: Ensure data accuracy, adherence to financial standards, and proper audit documentation (living directly with the deal paper trail).
• Advanced Problem Solving: Deploy structured analytics, statistical techniques, and research methodologies to solve complex investment-related problems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced education, certification, or coursework in analytics, finance, or data science is preferred.
• Strong command of financial modeling, ratios, valuation techniques, and analytical tools.
• High proficiency in Excel; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
• High integrity and discretion. You'll handle sensitive financial and legal information daily.
