About the Job :
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Cloud Database Engineer
with expertise in MariaDB and AWS RDS to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring high-performance, secure, and resilient database environments, especially during migration and optimization phases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database setup, performance tuning, and implementing security and compliance standards in cloud infrastructure.

Educational Background:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related field is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement high-performance, resilient, and secure database solutions.
Perform day-to-day migration tasks including backup/restore, cross-region replication, and database optimization.
Set up, configure, and optimize MariaDB instances within AWS RDS environments.
Assist in schema migration, query optimization, and troubleshooting during pre- and post-migration phases.
Ensure database reliability, availability, and compliance with SLA requirements.
Implement replication setups and verify backup/restore procedures.
Understand and translate security guidelines into actionable technology tasks.
Design and enforce security standards for AWS environments, Infrastructure as Code, and database encryption, monitoring, logging, and compliance.
Skills Required:
Minimum 7 years of experience in database engineering, with strong expertise in MariaDB and AWS RDS.
Proven experience in database migration, backup/restore, and replication strategies.
Advanced skills in query optimization, performance tuning, and schema design.
Deep understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, monitoring, and logging.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks and ability to implement them in cloud environments.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives in cross-functional teams.
