Manual Tester

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to support application quality assurance across the software delivery lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in validating functional requirements, ensuring system stability, and enabling smooth business adoption through structured testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, disciplined testing execution, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective test scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop manual test cases and test artefacts based on functional specifications, business requirements, and user stories
• Maintain and update Requirement Traceability Matrix to ensure end-to-end test coverage and requirement alignment
• Prepare and manage test data using SQL scripts and supporting data tools
• Execute manual test cases across functional, system, and regression testing phases
• Analyze test results to identify defects, assess business impact, and recommend remediation actions
• Log, track, and manage defects using test management and issue tracking tools
• Produce structured daily test execution reports outlining progress, risks, and issues
• Work closely with Business Analysts and Developers to clarify requirements and resolve defects efficiently
• Support business users during User Acceptance Testing by providing coordination, guidance, and issue tracking
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, templates, and documentation

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• At least 1 year of experience in manual software testing or quality assurance
• Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of SQL for test data preparation and validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
• Familiarity with Agile or SDLC testing methodologies is an advantage
