Manager Software Development - ROCm Core Software

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead our ROCm Core Software Development Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of ROCm components for new GPU development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GPU/ML related software development, team leadership, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor a team of software developers, providing guidance, support, and growth opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Project Management:

Plan, coordinate, and prioritize the development activities of the team.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

Technical Oversight:

Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions for GPU ML feature/performance validation.
Ensure the software meets quality standards and performance criteria.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement strategies for the evolution of ROCm components to support new generation GPU.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and advocate for best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with other teams to solve related issues blocking ROCm Software Stack deliverables.
Engage with customers and partners to ensure their needs are met.

Preferred Experience

10+ years of experience in GPU/ML software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
Strong understanding of CI/CD process and related software.
Experience with GPU programming, HPC, or similar technical domains is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience with ROCm or other GPU computing platforms.
Knowledge of open-source software development and community engagement.

Academic Credentials

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
PMP is plus.
