Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Offset Production Manager with over 15 years of expertise in the printing and packaging industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end offset printing operations, ensuring production targets, maintaining quality standards, optimizing machine efficiency, reducing wastage, and leading production teams while ensuring compliance with safety and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily offset printing production activities.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned schedule.
• Coordinate with PPC, Pre-Press, Die Cutting, Lamination, Foiling, UV Coating, Rigid Box, and Dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
• Monitor machine utilization and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Ensure timely delivery of customer orders without compromising quality.

Process & Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to approved production processes and work instructions.
• Maintain print quality standards, color consistency, and registration accuracy.
• Minimize production defects, rejections, and customer complaints.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.

Machine & Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure optimum machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Monitor machine calibration and preventive maintenance schedules.

Cost & Productivity Improvement

• Control paper, ink, varnish, plates, and consumable wastage.
• Improve productivity through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S practices.
• Optimize manpower utilization across shifts.
• Monitor production efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Team Management

• Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators, helpers, and shift in-charges.
• Train employees on SOPs, quality standards, safety practices, and machine operations.
• Conduct performance evaluations and develop team capabilities.
• Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Factory Act requirements and EHS standards.
• Enforce PPE usage and safe work practices.
• Maintain housekeeping standards as per 5S.
• Participate in internal and external audits.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Monitor KPIs including:
• Production Output
• Machine Efficiency
• OEE
• Rejection Percentage
• Wastage
• Downtime
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Maintain production records, shift reports, and quality documentation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with PPC, Quality, Stores, Purchase, Maintenance, Sales, and Dispatch teams.
• Support new product development (NPD) trials and process validation.
• Ensure smooth execution of customer priorities and urgent orders.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Sheet-fed Offset Printing Machines (Heidelberg, Komori, KBA, RMGT, or equivalent).
• Expertise in color management, printing processes, and quality standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and Six Sigma concepts.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

• 15+ years of experience in offset printing and packaging manufacturing.
• Experience in carton, mono carton, rigid box, or premium packaging production.
• Exposure to high-volume commercial or packaging printing operations.
• Experience in handling customer quality requirements and production planning.
