Role Description The Manager – Costing (Injection Moulding) will oversee cost estimation, control, and analysis for injection moulding operations in the manufacturing plant. This full-time, on-site role in Chennai involves preparing detailed cost sheets for new and existing products, evaluating material, machine, labor, and overhead costs, and coordinating with production and procurement teams to maintain cost efficiency. The manager will monitor variances between standard and actual costs, support price negotiations with customers and suppliers, and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery. Daily responsibilities include reviewing production data, validating BOMs and cycle times, updating costing models, preparing reports for management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The role requires close collaboration with operations, quality, and finance teams to support profitable and competitive manufacturing.
Qualifications

• Strong background in Production Planning and Production Management, with the ability to align costing with capacity, scheduling, and resource utilization.
• Hands-on experience in Manufacturing Operations and Operations Management, particularly in injection moulding or related automotive component manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Quality Control practices to ensure cost calculations consider quality standards, scrap rates, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and variance reporting, with advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in operations or finance is an advantage.
• Experience in the automotive industry and understanding of customer-specific requirements, tooling costs, and RFQ/quotation processes.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Chennai.
