“Manager, Global HR Support” for People Operations Team, Chennai, India

Are you the enthusiastic, self-driven and result-oriented professional who wants to move our customer’s performance forward? We are looking for Manager, Global HR Support for our People Operations Team to be based in Chennai, India. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day assignment processes by leading a team of HR coordinators and by driving improvements and regional best practices. This position reports to Vice President, People Tech and Intelligence.

Position Summary

As part of Valmet’s new People and Culture operating model, the Manager, Global HR Support will serve as the first point of contact for employees and people leaders worldwide. This role ensures timely and accurate resolution of people related inquiries, delivers exceptional customer service, and supports Valmet’s global People Operations processes. The position focuses on handling global routine transactions and inquiries while routing complex and local cases to regional HR Generalists, HR Managers and Payroll Specialists as well as to global Center of Excellence teams. You play also key role on providing data for Global People Operations organization to support continuous improvement of our knowledge and case management tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Employee Support: Respond to people related inquiries from employees and people leaders across all regions in Workday Help.
  • Case Management: Record, track, and resolve cases in Valmet’s case management system, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels and data privacy standards.
  • Transaction Processing: Execute standard HR transactions such as personal data updates, employment verifications, and document uploads.
  • Knowledge Base Utilization: Use Valmet’s HR knowledge storage (Workday Help) and standard operating procedures to provide accurate and consistent information.
  • Escalation: Identify and escalate complex or region-specific issues to regional HR Generalists, HR Managers and Payroll Specialists as well as to global Center of Excellence teams.
  • Compliance & Data Privacy: Ensure adherence to global HR policies, GDPR, and local labor regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze and share feedback on recurring issues and contribute to process optimization and knowledge base updates together with operational HR and process owners.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 10–15 years in HR operations or customer service, preferably in a global environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
    • Strong customer service orientation and cultural awareness.
    • Ability to work with HR systems (Workday and Workday Help specially).
    • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
