Role Description The Manager Accounts Payable (Retail) is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function for the retail business. This role includes managing vendor invoices, validating purchase orders, ensuring timely payments, and monitoring adherence to company policies and internal controls. The manager will handle journal entries and accruals related to payables, reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with procurement and store operations teams. The position involves preparing periodic reports on payables, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and contributing to process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. The Manager Accounts Payable will also assist in audit activities, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and financial regulations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Accounting skills, including experience with Journal Entries and Accruals.
  • Candidates should possess solid Finance knowledge, particularly in accounts payable processes and cash flow management.
  • Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to review data, identify variances, and support decision-making.
  • Relevant experience in retail or multi-store environments, with familiarity in vendor management and inventory-related payables, is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced MS Excel skills, is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA/CPA/ICWA or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
