Job Description
EXPERIENCE: Min. 7 years of maintenance experience in the liquid chemical filling & packaging manufacturing environment
LOCATION: Vadodara, Gujarat
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and oversee day-to-day maintenance operations for manufacturing, filling, and packaging machinery in an adhesive / liquid chemical production facility.
• Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime and production efficiency.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based filling, capping, labeling, printing, and packaging machines, ensuring consistent and safe operation.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of utility systems, including air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, STP/ETP, firefighting systems, transformers, and common electrical infrastructure.
• Lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Evaluate new machinery and equipment by reviewing technical drawings, design proposals, specifications, manuals, and supplier documentation for feasibility, cost, safety, and long-term maintenance requirements.
• Take ownership of small to mid-sized engineering projects, including equipment modification, layout improvements, process optimization, and new product addition.
• Coordinate with production, quality, EHS, procurement, and external vendors to ensure timely maintenance support and minimal downtime.
• Maintain proper maintenance documentation, logs, SOPs, spare parts records, and compliance reports.
• Manage maintenance teams and contractors, including task allocation, supervision, training, and performance monitoring.
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to plant reliability and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's or Master degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Packaging Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a liquid chemical filling and packaging manufacturing environment (adhesives, coatings, chemicals, FMCG liquids, etc.).
• Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO, and relevant industrial safety and manufacturing standards.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to coordinate across departments and with external vendors.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and respond effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
