Job Purpose

The Maintenance Engineer – Automated Vertical Systems is responsible for the support in installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated vertical storage systems. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, safety,

and operational efficiency.

Technical Skills

• Should have knowledge of PLC-based controls, HMIs, and interlocks integrated with MES / line control systems.
• Should know to comply with safety standards, statutory requirements, and company EHS policies.
• Should know to follow and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Should conduct safety inspections and risk assessments of automated vertical equipment.
• Identify critical spare parts and ensure adequate inventory.
• Should have knowledge of Vertical storage machine of Modula, Ferretto & Craftsmann
• Should have knowledge on PCBA manufacturing industry and should be familiar with SMT and THT process.
• Should support in PM activities of other factory equipment.
  
  

Other Skills And Knowledge

• Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, and vendors for advanced troubleshooting, AMC, and upgrades.
• Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new automated vertical systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts records.
• Should be able to perform root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) reports.
• Support audits and inspections related to equipment maintenance and safety.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated vertical systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system faults.
• Handle breakdowns efficiently to minimize production or material-handling downtime.
• Monitor system performance and take corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical panels, sensors, motors, encoders, VFDs, servos, and safety circuits.
• Diagnose mechanical issues such as alignment, wear, chains, belts, and lifting mechanisms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure during breakdowns.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or on-call support as required.
