Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and accurate movement of shipments.
- Review purchase orders, shipping documents, and related records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Arrange special shipping requirements when necessary.
- Prepare, submit, and process all required import and export documentation.
- Liaise with clients, customs authorities, and shipping partners to ensure smooth clearance and shipment handling.
- Resolve issues or discrepancies arising during the shipping and customs clearance process.
- Stay up to date with applicable customs laws, tariffs, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with government and regulatory standards.
- Develop and improve processes to enhance supply chain efficiency and organization.
- Prepare billing documents, duties, taxes, and invoices related to shipments.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Customs Administration, Business, or a related discipline within the logistics or supply chain industry.
- Licensed Customs Broker (mandatory).
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience gained from a Carrier, Customs Brokerage firm, or Freight Forwarder.
- Proven experience in calculating and processing customs duties and taxes.
- Hands-on experience in obtaining, preparing, and processing import and export permits.
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance and regulatory requirements for import and export shipments.
- Ability to advise clients on import/export restrictions, tariff classifications, insurance requirements, quotas, insurance requirements, or other customs-related matters.
