Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate loan and facility agreements, security documents, guarantees and related finance documentation for DAMAC’s real estate and hospitality projects.
- Support financing for development projects (including construction finance, off‑plan/home‑finance partnerships, refinancing and structured finance) in coordination with Group Finance and external lenders.
- Assist in advising on project finance, corporate lending, acquisition finance and structured finance transactions for DAMAC projects in the UAE and internationally, from an India‑based role (with increasing autonomy towards 5–7 PQE).
- Manage day‑to‑day execution support on financing transactions: term sheets, conditions precedent, perfection of security over real estate and other assets, and post‑closing actions.
- Ensure transactions comply with applicable UAE and international banking and real estate regulations, as well as DAMAC internal policies, working closely with UAE‑based legal colleagues.
- Liaise remotely (and occasionally in‑person) with banks, Islamic financial institutions, advisors and investors on financing solutions for off‑plan and completed properties.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to real estate financing and banking that may affect DAMAC’s structures and brief internal stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with LL.B. from a recognised Indian university; LL.M. in banking, finance or capital markets is an advantage.
- 2–7 years’ post‑qualification experience in banking and finance at a leading Indian law firm, bank, NBFC or real estate developer, with exposure to project and/or real estate finance.
- Proven experience (appropriate to level) drafting and negotiating loan, security and inter‑creditor documentation and supporting cross‑border or offshore financing structures.
- Exposure to UAE or GCC real estate or financing work is preferred; otherwise, strong motivation and ability to quickly build expertise in UAE frameworks.
- Excellent written and spoken English and communication skills; comfortable working with cross‑border teams and external financial institutions from an India base.
- High level of integrity, commercial mindset and ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
