Role Overview
The Legal Content Writer will research and draft accurate, well-structured legal and compliance-related content across a range of formats, including articles, guides, case summaries, and client-facing materials. Working closely with Loch's legal and marketing functions, the Legal Content Writer will ensure that all content reflects correct legal terminology and current regulatory positions while remaining accessible to its intended audience. This role suits an experienced legal writer who can balance accuracy with clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and draft legal and compliance content across formats including articles, guides, blogs, and client-facing materials
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate content
- Collaborate with legal researchers and subject matter experts to verify accuracy of content
- Proofread and edit legal content prior to internal or external publication
- Adapt tone and style of content to suit different practice areas, audiences, and platforms
- Maintain a content calendar and track deliverables against agreed timelines
- Apply basic SEO principles to legal content where appropriate
- Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting content areas
- Maintain organised records of published and in-progress content, including source references
Key Deliverables
- Legal content produced consistently against agreed content calendar timelines
- All published content verified for legal accuracy prior to release
- Demonstrated ability to write across multiple legal practice areas and formats
- Organised content and reference records maintained at all times
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts without losing accuracy
- Sound understanding of legal terminology and awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt tone and style across different formats and audiences
- Receptive to feedback from legal reviewers and willing to revise content accordingly
- Basic familiarity with SEO principles as applied to written content
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, English, Journalism, or a related field; a legal qualification is an advantage
- Three to four years of experience in legal writing, legal content, or a closely related field

Commensurate with experience.
