Job Description: Leader – Technical Training

Designation: Leader – Technical Training

Reporting to: Leader - Operations

Job Location: Bhimadole

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, drive, and deliver Business Objectives and KPI’s in the Technical training part of the Manufacturing process.
  • Maintain and drive a strong Safety culture within the training team and ensure a Safe and Healthy work environment for all associates.
  • Drive a strong 5S culture in the training environment and ensure that the Standards of Excellence are delivered across all learning facilities.
  • Identify the training needs and skill gaps of the team and work with HR Business partners and Operations leaders on bridging the gap through learning and training interventions.
  • Create and revise training systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems (certifications), and personnel requirements.
  • Facilitate and conduct technical training programs and workshops, including specialized methodologies like A-PDCA, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen events.
  • Implement metrics to measure "time-to-autonomy" for new hires and the effectiveness of technical upskilling for existing associates.
  • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of the technical training.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Understand the company’s strategy and vision and develop long-term plans to materialize strategy on aspects of Process, People, and Technology.
  • Drive strategic projects related to the multi-tier apprenticeship and technical certification programs (aligned with NATS and NAPS) to ensure a robust internal talent pipeline.
  • Develop strong bench strength by mentoring the team on Problem Solving methodologies based on Lixil’s Monozukuri way.
  • Identify opportunities to implement Global Technical Training Best practices from other Lixil Manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate with Leaders in continually identifying the Easiest, Fastest, and Safest way of doing things by reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Stakeholders

  • Internal: Functional Leaders, Team Leaders, HR Business Partners, EHS, Maintenance, and Quality.
  • External: Global counterparts of other Lixil Plants, and technical training providers.

Required Skills And Capabilities

  • Leadership: Advanced team management, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Instructional Design: Knowledge of developing technical manuals and structured learning frameworks.
  • Problem Solving: Deep knowledge of structured problem-solving (7 QC tools, PDCA, Advanced Problem-solving methodologies)
  • Strategic Planning: Competency in curriculum mapping and long-term training calendar management.

Academia & Experience

  • Academia: Bachelor’s degree in any stream of engineering
  • Professional Experience: At least 12 years’ experience in Manufacturing environment and at least 3 years dedicated to Training or Problem Solving.
