Lead Technical Architect
Certus Recruitment Group
Job Description
Certus Recruitment Group is on the search for a Martech Implementation Engineer (Braze / AppsFlyer / Heap)
Engagement type: Contract — duration to be scoped against deliverables
Location: Remote (US) — occasional NYC presence a plus
Reports to: Head of Data, Trading, & AI
Company Description
The firm is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology — delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.
The firm's founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. The firm is backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.
The Engagement
The firm is hiring a hands-on engineering contractor to complete the implementation of its marketing technology stack across web and mobile. Three best‐in‐class tools are already contracted — Braze, AppsFlyer, and Heap — and partially deployed. We need someone who can land the plane : instrument the remaining surfaces, validate that data is flowing cleanly into the firm's AWS environment, and stand up the server‐side postbacks that feed enriched event data back to each tool so attribution, segmentation, and lifecycle automation actually work.
This is the difference between paying for tools that sit idle and operating a martech stack that materially compounds marketing ROI. You will be the person who makes that switch flip.
Your Impact
- Instrument every audience‐facing surface end‐to‐end with the Braze, AppsFlyer, and Heap SDKs:
- the firm's marketing website (Webflow), via custom code / tag manager injection
- the firm's client/advisor web application (React SPA)
- the firm's mobile application on iOS and Android (React Native)
- Design and ship the custom event taxonomy — funnel drop‐offs, intake form steps, advisor onboarding milestones, in‐app product events — so marketing and product can act on real behavior, not guesses.
- Validate first‐party data capture into AWS (S3‐based data lake), confirming that events land cleanly, are tied to a single UID across platforms, and can be reconciled with source‐of‐truth user data.
- Build the server‐to‐server postbacks from AWS to each tool so:
- AppsFlyer receives the down‐funnel conversion events it needs for attribution, lookalikes, and custom audiences
- Braze receives the behavioral and lifecycle events needed for segmentation, journey orchestration, and cross‐channel messaging (email / push / in‐app / SMS)
- Heap receives the enriched data needed for funnel analysis, regressive user journeys, and heatmapping
- Stand up the supporting AWS infrastructure (S3, IAM, Lambda / streaming as appropriate) in a way that is isolated, well‐documented, and safe to hand off.
- QA the full loop — fire test events from every surface, confirm landing in S3, confirm postback delivery to each tool, confirm UID stitching.
- Document everything — event dictionary, architecture diagrams, runbooks, credentials handoff — so the in‐house team can operate and extend the stack after the engagement ends.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands‐on engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production martech / analytics integrations
- Deep, recent experience with at least two of: Braze, AppsFlyer, Heap (or directly comparable tools — Iterable, Customer.io, Adjust, Branch, Amplitude, mParticle, Segment). Strong candidates have implemented these SDKs themselves, not just configured dashboards.
- React — comfortable instrumenting a modern React SPA without traditional URL‐per‐page semantics; you know how to wire route changes, gated views, and form steps into clean event streams.
- Webflow — comfortable injecting and maintaining tracking via Webflow custom code, embeds, and/or a tag manager (GTM, Segment, Tealium). You can keep marketing‐site events in lockstep with the app's taxonomy.
- React Native (or native iOS / Android) — you've shipped SDKs into a mobile app, dealt with bridging issues, and debugged event delivery across platforms.
- AWS — fluent with S3, IAM, and at least one of Lambda / Kinesis / Firehose / EventBridge. You can stand up a clean, isolated account and pipe data through it.
- Server‐to‐server / API integration experience — you've built postback pipelines, handled retries, batching, schema mapping, and authentication against third‐party APIs.
- A taxonomy mindset — you think carefully about event naming, properties, identity resolution, and how a single UID gets stitched across web, mobile, and offline sources.
Strong communicator — you can translate technical decisions into plain English for marketing and exec stakeholders, and you proactively flag risks and tradeoffs
