Job Description
About the Group
The group is a diversified, family-promoted Indian enterprise with established businesses across FMCG and flexible packaging. Surya Global Flexifilms is a leading manufacturer in the flexible packaging space, with strong capabilities across BOPP, BOPET and specialty films, serving customers across India and international markets. The company is known for its manufacturing strength, scale, and focus on operational excellence. The group also includes Priyagold, one of India’s most widely recognized biscuit brands, with deep distribution reach and strong consumer recall built over decades.
Together, the businesses represent a combination of brand-led FMCG and industrial manufacturing, supported by long-term promoter commitment. The group is currently focused on strengthening systems, building leadership depth, and preparing the organization for its next phase of growth, while continuing to scale its core businesses.
About the Role
The Lead - Talent Acquisition will be responsible for driving end-to-end hiring across key functions, with a strong focus on quality, relevance, and execution discipline. The role spans a diverse mix of hiring needs, including corporate roles, sales and key account positions, manufacturing and plant roles, and leadership hiring, requiring the ability to balance speed, depth, and judgement.
This is a hands-on, player cum coach role that combines direct ownership of leadership and complex hiring with the responsibility of guiding and supporting a small Talent Acquisition team on junior-to-mid-level roles. The individual will work closely with executive and senior leadership to translate business needs into clear hiring plans, manage expectations, and ensure consistent follow-through. Success in the role will depend on the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, navigate evolving priorities, and deliver outcomes in a growing, mid-tier Indian business environment, while steadily strengthening recruitment capability, discipline, and credibility.
Given the organisation’s lean HR structure, the role also offers exposure to select areas of the broader HR agenda beyond Talent Acquisition. While TA remains the core responsibility, the role provides opportunities to contribute to initiatives related to people processes, workforce planning, or HR operations, based on business needs and individual capability. This breadth of exposure is intended as a development opportunity for professionals interested in building a well-rounded HR perspective in a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Hiring Ownership
- Own the complete recruitment lifecycle across functions, from requirement definition to offer closure and joining
- Personally lead senior and leadership hiring (CXO-1 / CXO-2 and other critical roles)
- Support and guide the TA team on junior-to-mid and mid-senior hiring
- Ensure hiring outcomes align with business needs, timelines, and quality expectations
Stakeholder Management & Requirement Alignment
- Partner closely with business leaders across Sales (B2B / Key Accounts), Manufacturing, Procurement, and Corporate Functions
- Drive clarity on role requirements, success profiles, and hiring priorities
- Manage expectations at working and peer levels through regular communication and data-backed updates
- Escalate thoughtfully where required, with context and options
TA Team Leadership (Player–Coach)
- Lead and mentor a small TA team with hands-on involvement in live hiring
- Provide direction, prioritisation, and ongoing feedback to improve team effectiveness
- Support capability building within the team and prepare it for scale as hiring needs evolve
Recruitment Excellence & Capability Building
- Drive adoption of best practices in recruitment, aligned to the organisation’s current stage of growth
- Support the design and deployment of tools such as ATS, hiring dashboards, and structured trackers
- Leverage data, metrics, and emerging AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing quality, turnaround time, and candidate experience
- Track and review key hiring metrics including TAT, pipeline health, source effectiveness, and closures
- Bring structure and visibility to recruitment processes without over-engineering
This role will suit you if:
- You enjoy being hands-on while also guiding and developing others
- You are comfortable hiring across levels i.e. from junior roles to senior leadership
- You can navigate strong personalities and evolving expectations with maturity
- You believe in building hiring discipline through relationships, data, and delivery
- You are motivated by impact and learning rather than titles alone
- You are interested in building exposure across broader HR areas over time, in addition to deepening your Talent Acquisition expertise
Experience, Skills & Attributes
- 8–12 years of experience in Talent Acquisition (flexible for strong profiles)
- Proven experience in corporate hiring, preferably within B2B, manufacturing, or complex business environments
- Demonstrated exposure to leadership and stakeholder-intensive hiring
- Prior experience guiding or mentoring recruiters is preferred
- Strong execution and closure orientation
- Mature stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and changing priorities
- Practical, outcome-driven approach to TA processes and metrics
- High ownership, resilience, and comfort working in growing, mid-tier Indian organisations
