Lead Software Engineer - Mainframe

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for mainframe modernization efforts including WDI, TPMS, RMS dependencies, JCL updates, and ECHO connectivity
• Lead design, planning, and execution of mainframe modernization initiatives
• Guide the team in implementing best practices for development, integration, and migration on mainframe systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and resolve technical challenges
• Oversee code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
• Maintain technical documentation for mainframe deliverables
• Ensure quality assurance processes are followed throughout mainframe modernization lifecycle
• Drive alignment of modernization projects with business objectives and technology standards
• Mentor and support team members to enhance technical capabilities
• Coordinate with stakeholders to manage project scope and timelines

Requirements

• Extensive experience of 8-12 years in mainframe technologies
• Expertise in PL/I, JCL, and DB2
• Strong leadership skills with experience guiding technical teams
• Proven experience leading modernization or migration projects on mainframe platforms
• In-depth knowledge of mainframe development, integration, and migration best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• English language proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level
