About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Java Lead to join our growing fintech product engineering team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in backend technologies, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of financial systems, payments, or transaction processing. You will lead a team of talented developers, drive technical excellence, and ensure high-quality delivery of scalable fintech solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead a team of Java developers through design, development, testing, and deployment phases. Architect, design, and develop high-performance, secure, and scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end fintech solutions. Review code for quality, performance, and adherence to best practices and design patterns. Drive implementation of asynchronous programming models, RESTful APIs, and data-driven designs. Define and enforce coding standards, documentation, and CI/CD best practices. Participate in architectural discussions and decisions with stakeholders. Mentor and guide team members in technical growth and performance improvement. Work closely with DevOps and Cloud teams (AWS / Azure / GCP) for deployment and scaling. Ensure system reliability, performance tuning, and continuous improvement. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Microservices. Experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). Strong understanding of API design, integration, and security (OAuth2, JWT). Good exposure to RDBMS (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis). Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.). Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience in payment systems, transaction processing, or financial APIs (UPI, NEFT, RTGS, Payment Gateways) is a plus. Proficiency in design patterns, data modeling, and system architecture documentation (C4 model preferred). Excellent problem-solving and team leadership skills. Education Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Nice To Have Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS/Event Sourcing. Experience in API Specification & Integration Design using tools like Swagger / OpenAPI. Familiarity with Architecture Decision Records (ADR) and C4 architecture modeling.
