Lead Java Developer

We are hiring a Senior Java Backend Developer to build and scale backend platforms powering smart lighting systems and EV charging infrastructure. You will work on IoT-driven, cloud-connected systems that manage devices, energy consumption, and real-time data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Java 21, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Build scalable platforms for smart lighting control systems and EV charger networks
• Develop and manage APIs for device communication, mobile apps, and dashboards
• Handle real-time data processing from IoT devices (lighting controllers, EV chargers)
• Integrate with protocols and systems like OCPP (EV charging), MQTT, or WebSockets
• Implement energy monitoring, billing, and usage analytics systems
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of backend systems
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and IoT teams
• Optimize system performance for high device volumes and low latency
• Participate in architecture decisions and mentor junior engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience in Java
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices
• Experience building high-throughput, distributed systems
• Hands-on with REST APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven architecture
• Experience with IoT platforms or device integration
• Knowledge of EV charging protocols (OCPP) or similar is highly preferred
• Familiarity with MQTT, Kafka, or other messaging systems
• Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Timeseries DBs)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of authentication, security, and data protection

Good to Have

• Experience in smart lighting systems, building automation, or energy management
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, GCP)
• Knowledge of billing systems, payment integrations, or energy metering
• Familiarity with edge computing or embedded systems integration

Domain Exposure (Highly Preferred)

• EV charging networks / infrastructure platforms
• Smart city / smart lighting solutions
• Energy management systems (EMS)
• IoT-based industrial or consumer products
