Job Description

Job Purpose

EyeROV is looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer to drive execution, problem-solving, and innovation within the R&D team. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoys building real-world products, and can bridge design, development, and field deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a technical anchor for the R&D team, providing hands-on guidance across software, mechatronics, electrical, and hardware domains.

Review ongoing engineering activities, designs, and experiments to ensure speed, quality, and technical robustness.

Drive structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and rapid iteration during development and testing.

Own system-level thinking for integration of hardware, software, and subsystems in underwater robotic platforms.

Support end-to-end product development—from concept, prototyping, and validation to field deployment.

Prepare and review technical proposals, BOMs, cost estimates, and project budgets across the product lifecycle.

Work closely with Technical Sales to evaluate customer requirements and convert them into actionable R&D tasks.

Plan, participate in, and review field trials, testing plans, and performance evaluations.

Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure smooth handover and scalability.

Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Computer Science or related fields).

Minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experience in R&D, product development, or systems engineering.

Proven experience working on multidisciplinary engineering systems with real-world deployment exposure.

Startup, robotics, embedded systems, automation, marine, or industrial product experience is a strong plus.
