Job Profile Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – UI Automation Testing with strong hands‑on experience in building and maintaining high‑quality UI automation solutions for modern web applications. This role will contribute to delivering reliable, scalable, customer‑facing mobile applications by embedding automation and quality practices throughout the SDLC.

The Senior Engineer will work closely with Product Owners, Mobile Engineers, Lead Engineers, and ESQA partners to ensure quality is built in early and consistently across releases.

Key Skills:

  • UI automation frameworks/tools: Playwright (core), Selenium.
  • Test design approaches: Page Object Model / BDD Frameworks.
  • Cross-browser UI validation (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox).
  • Programming languages: JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred for Playwright), Java (nice-to-have).
  • Strong coding practices: reusable utilities, test data handling, reporting, maintainable automation architecture.
  • REST API testing and backend integration validation to strengthen end-to-end coverage.
  • CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Git, pipelines).
  • Integrate automation suites into pipelines for continuous testing.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and automation-first delivery models.
  • Use AI tools like GitHub Copilot, and test generators to accelerate script creation, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Cloud Device farms and infrastructure: BrowserStack or AWS.

Required Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience UI automation testing.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from Lead Engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure in performance, security, and accessibility (WCAG) testing for web applications.
  • Experience in insurance, or regulated domains is a plus.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain UI automation test scripts and frameworks for web applications.
  • Execute automated functional, regression, smoke, and integration tests.
  • Contribute to improving automation coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve defects.
  • Collaborate with UI engineers to improve testability (e.g., stable selectors/test IDs).
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies: planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing
  • Ensure test scenarios align with acceptance criteria and business requirements.

  • Follow Guardian’s automation standards, coding guidelines, and quality gates.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute ideas to improve test efficiency, reliability, and release confidence.

Work Shift – will need to work in overlapping time zone with US at different intervals.
