Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist with a strong passion for software design and development to join our collaborative, distributed Data Science team. You will be responsible for building advanced AI/ML components that empower our software systems and customers to uncover meaningful insights. Candidates should have hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as XGB and PyTorch, extensive proficiency in Python, and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Some Of What You'll Do

Scope of the Role:

This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications.
Deliver complex, high-quality features that are reliable and supportable.
Write and maintain comprehensive tests and documentation.
Collaborate with team members to define, scope, prioritize, and estimate tasks.
Assist in implementation and monitor software performance to ensure expected functionality.
Review design documents and code, providing constructive feedback.
Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance team efficiency.
Test and deploy programs and applications.
Triage, reproduce, and debug issues reported by team members.
Work independently, proactively resolving obstacles by seeking solutions or consulting peers.

Experience, Education, And Certification

Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a full-time Software Developer/Engineer.

Additional Requirements

5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
Strong foundation in pure and applied mathematics, especially linear algebra, analysis, and probability theory.
Deep understanding of SQL and/or analytical data warehouses.
Experience with Git source control.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Professional experience in Python.
Demonstrated expertise with databases.
Familiarity with Git.
Proven ability to work independently within a distributed team.
Critical thinking skills and a pragmatic approach to applying data science concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience communicating with stakeholders and providing status updates on projects.
Commitment to staying current with advancements in relevant technologies.
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
Dedication to continually improving product quality and security.
