Role Summary As a Lead Backend Engineer, you?ll take ownership of building robust backend infrastructure that powers our AI messaging engine. You?ll work on API design, architecture decisions, scalable ETL pipelines, and everything in between to support intelligent, event-driven communication at scale. Responsibilities API Design: Develop clean, scalable APIs (REST, GraphQL) to power our platform and integrations. Architecture Design: Design and scale backend architecture to support real-time and batch communication workflows. ETL Pipelines: Build efficient ETL and data processing pipelines for user events, communication logs, and analytics. DevOps & Monitoring: Deploy, monitor, and scale services using modern DevOps tools and cloud platforms (AWS). Optimization: Continuously profile and optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and cost. Collaboration: Work closely with teams to ship features quickly. Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code with unit/integration tests, documentation, and CI/CD practices. Requirements Experience: 4?8 years of backend engineering experience. Languages: Strong knowledge of at least one backend stack ? Node.js, Python, or preferred. Databases: Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Redshift or similar data stores. Architecture: Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture. Cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS is a strong plus. Problem Solving: You love debugging, optimizing, and scaling systems under load. Mindset: Geeky, curious, and obsessed with building great systems. Nice to Have Experience with messaging infrastructure (e.g., SQS, Twilio, WhatsApp APIs). Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog). Exposure to AI/ML-based systems and data pipelines.
