Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced L3 Security Engineer – Imperva Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) with strong expertise in designing, implementing, administering, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise Database Activity Monitoring solutions using Imperva DAM. The candidate will serve as the highest technical escalation point for DAM infrastructure, responsible for architecture support, policy optimization, database security monitoring, incident response, performance tuning, compliance, and integration with enterprise security platforms.

The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in database security, privileged user monitoring, compliance frameworks, SIEM integration, and enterprise security operations while collaborating with SOC, database, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure proactive protection of critical database assets.

Key Responsibilities Imperva DAM Administration & Engineering

  • Design, implement, configure, and manage Imperva Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) infrastructure.
  • Lead deployment, upgrade, migration, patching, and lifecycle management of Imperva DAM appliances, gateways, and agents.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise-wide DAM monitoring policies, alert rules, risk scoring, and database security controls.
  • Develop database activity monitoring strategies for critical business applications.
  • Perform health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning of DAM infrastructure.
  • Provide L3 technical support and act as the final escalation point for complex DAM-related issues.

Database Security Monitoring

  • Monitor privileged user activities and database transactions across enterprise environments.
  • Analyze suspicious database activities, insider threats, and anomalous user behavior.
  • Perform forensic analysis of database security incidents.
  • Investigate high-priority database security alerts and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Fine-tune monitoring policies to reduce false positives while improving detection accuracy.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of sensitive database assets.

Security Operations & Incident Response

  • Lead investigation of database security incidents and support SOC during critical security events.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Integrate DAM alerts into enterprise Incident Response processes.
  • Collaborate with Threat Hunting, SOC, IAM, Vulnerability Management, and Application Security teams.
  • Participate in P1/P2 incident management, war-room discussions, and customer escalations.

Platform Support & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot complex Imperva DAM infrastructure, gateway, collector, and agent-related issues.
  • Resolve connectivity, monitoring, performance, and database communication problems.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations.
  • Perform server health monitoring, storage optimization, and system performance tuning.
  • Coordinate with Database Administrators, Infrastructure, Network, and Security teams for issue resolution.

Performance Optimization

  • Perform DAM performance tuning and policy optimization.

  • Review and improve monitoring policies for enterprise workloads.
  • Implement best practices for scalability, availability, and operational efficiency.

Experience & Qualification

  • 6–9 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Database Security, or Security Operations.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Imperva DAM in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production environments with high availability and compliance requirements.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Cloud Database Security (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of Database Encryption and Data Security.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Assessment and Database Hardening.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps and Security Automation.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Experience working in BFSI, Banking, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Strong expertise in Imperva DAM architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, policy management, and database security monitoring.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale DAM environments, handling P1/P2 incidents, performing RCA, and supporting regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers, drive automation initiatives, and work effectively with SOC, Database, Infrastructure, and Security teams in a 24×7 enterprise support environment.
