Junior Manager / Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - API Sales & Marketing - Pharmaceutical Industry
Department: Sales & Marketing - Pharmaceutical APIs
To drive sales growth and expand market presence for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in Korea and South-East Asian markets, with secondary focus on the Indian market, by managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and building long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead API sales and marketing activities across assigned international and domestic markets.
- Primary responsibility for Korea market and South-East Asia (including but not limited to Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia).
- Secondary responsibility for Indian market development and key account management.
- Develop and execute market entry and growth strategies for APIs in regulated and semi-regulated markets.
- Manage and grow key customer accounts, distributors, and channel partners.
- Identify new business opportunities, evaluate customer requirements, and coordinate internally for technical and regulatory support.
- Handle price negotiations, commercial discussions, contracts, and forecasting.
- Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing dynamics, and customer feedback.
- Support customer audits, technical discussions, and regulatory documentation as required.
- Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability objectives.
- Participate in international exhibitions, conferences, and customer visits.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in API sales and marketing
- Candidates with 10–15 years of API sales experience specifically in the Korea market will also be strongly considered
- Proven exposure to international API markets, especially Korea and South-East Asia
Markets Handled (Priority Order)
- Korea & South-East Asia – Mandatory
Education
- Technical background (B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Chemistry) – Preferred but not mandatory
- MBA (Marketing / International Business) – Added advantage
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of API product portfolios and pharma market dynamics
- Excellent business development and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to manage international customers and distributors
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality expectations for APIs
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability
- Willingness to travel extensively (international and domestic)
Preferred Profile
- Existing customer base or strong network in Korea and/or South-East Asia
- Experience handling regulated market APIs
- Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
