Junior Full Stack Engineer

Role

Supporting activities related to the development of SaaS products using modern web-based technologies (frontend, backend, middle-tier perspective) with guidance from expert colleagues.

Designation: Junior Full Stack Engineer

Experience (in years): 0-2 years of experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Science, Physics, Math or any other related discipline.

Certifications, if any

Software development-related certifications, if any.

AI/ML certifications (e.g., Anthropic Claude developer training, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, or healthcare AI specializations) are a plus.

The resource should possess a keen attitude for learning the technologies and implement the same in day-to-day work. Must be dedicated and must seek advice when required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support the team and contribute to the following activities:
• Deliver application functionality in an Agile setting, working as a member of the development team
• Ensure high quality of application features using test-driven development techniques.
• Deliver sprint items within the estimates.
• Ensure the quality of deliverables by adherence to company procedures
• Share periodic status updates with the team
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Evaluate and integrate AI/LLM capabilities into product features where applicable

Essential Experience

• Knowledge/experience with Ruby on Rails or similar Web application frameworks
• Experience with JS/ECMA6 UI frameworks such as ReactJS
• Test-driven development experience. Aware of Rails BDD/TDD methodologies.
• Experience building and using RESTful APIs
• Understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.)
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and other web technologies (XHTML, CSS, Ajax, JQuery, etc.)
• Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini Code Assist) for code generation, code review, and debugging
• Familiarity with AI/LLM APIs (e.g., Anthropic Claude API, OpenAI API, Google Gemini API) for building AI-powered features

Desired Experience

• Experience with apps in AWS, EC2 deployment, Capistrano, PaaS (like Heroku)
• Open-source project contributions
• Git and GitHub proficiency
• Integrating LLM-based features into web applications
• AI-powered testing and QA tools for automated test generation and bug detection
• Exposure to vector databases for AI-enabled search/retrieval in healthcare/pharma data is a plus
• Example work, preferably an active GitHub profile or similar
