About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer with BI experience to help build and maintain a modern data platform that powers reporting, analytics, and decision-making across the business.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics. You’ll work with raw data, transform it into reliable datasets, and support dashboards used by business stakeholders. You’ll gain exposure to the full data lifecycle—from ingestion to visualization—while working alongside experienced engineers and analysts.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest and transform data from multiple sources
• Clean, validate, and model data into analytics-ready tables
• Support and troubleshoot BI dashboards and reporting issues
• Partner with stakeholders to understand data and reporting needs
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across datasets
• Contribute to documentation and best practices for the data platform

What We’re Looking For

• Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions)
• Basic experience with Python for data processing (dagster, airflow)
• Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., fact/dimension tables, Inmon vs Kimball data modeling)
• Experience building or supporting dashboards in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Familiarity with metrics, dimensions, and filtering logic
• Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies between reports and source data
• Familiarity with version control using Git
• Exposure to data transformation tools like dbt (preferred)
• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT workflows

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake
• Exposure to orchestration tools like Dagster or Apache Airflow
• Experience working with APIs or ingesting external data sources
• Familiarity with modern data stack concepts (e.g. medallion architecture)

What Success Looks Like

• You can take raw data and transform it into clean, usable datasets
• You proactively identify and fix data quality issues
• You understand how data is used in dashboards and business decisions
• You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Background

• 0–3 years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics
• OR relevant projects, internships, or bootcamp experience
• Backgrounds such as:
• BI Analyst transitioning into data engineering
• Junior Data Engineer
• Analytics-focused graduate with hands-on projects

• The annual base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000.
