Role Description The Junior Data Analyst role at Taxlabs is a full-time remote position focused on supporting data-driven accounting and compliance processes. Day-to-day work includes collecting, cleaning, and organizing financial and operational data from various sources, and preparing datasets for analysis and reporting. The Junior Data Analyst assists in building dashboards and reports, identifying trends and anomalies, and providing insights that help improve internal workflows and client outcomes. The role also involves documenting data processes, collaborating with accounting and engineering teams, and maintaining data quality standards. This position is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and eager to grow in analytics within a technology-enabled accounting environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess foundational data skills such as basic data analysis, data cleaning, and data validation.
- Candidates should possess technical skills such as proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets) and familiarity with data visualization or BI tools.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify patterns, interpret metrics, and draw clear, actionable conclusions.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain findings clearly to non-technical team members and work effectively in remote teams.
- Relevant skills such as basic knowledge of accounting or tax concepts, experience with SQL or similar query languages, and comfort working with large datasets are beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to manage time independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail in a remote work environment.
