Startup Stairs is a startup ecosystem platform focused on connecting promising startups with investors, mentors, and strategic partners. We support founders throughout their fundraising journey by providing investor access, startup evaluation, fundraising assistance, and ecosystem-building initiatives such as Startup League and networking events.


Role Overview


We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Analyst to support our Investor Relations and Fundraising team. The ideal candidate should possess strong research and analytical skills, an interest in startups and venture capital, and the ability to coordinate effectively with founders, investors, and internal stakeholders.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to startup evaluation, fundraising processes, investor engagement, and venture capital ecosystems.


Key Responsibilities


1. Startup Screening & Analysis

  • Review startup applications, pitch decks, and business information.
  • Conduct preliminary market, industry, and competitor research.
  • Analyze startup business models, traction, and growth potential.
  • Prepare concise evaluation and summary reports for internal review.


2. Investor Research

  • Identify and research Venture Capital Firms, Angel Investors, Family Offices, and Institutional Investors.
  • Maintain and regularly update investor databases and CRM records.
  • Track investor interests, investment sectors, and portfolio activities.
  • Support investor mapping for fundraising mandates.


3. Investor Outreach Support

  • Assist in investor communication, outreach campaigns, and meeting coordination.
  • Schedule and manage investor-founder interactions.
  • Follow up with investors regarding meetings, feedback, and investment discussions.
  • Maintain records of investor interactions and responses.


4. Fundraising Support

  • Assist in preparing fundraising materials including pitch decks, teasers, and investor presentations.
  • Support execution of active fundraising mandates.
  • Track investor conversations, fundraising milestones, and deal progress.
  • Maintain accurate fundraising trackers and documentation.


5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly activity and progress reports.
  • Maintain organized records of startups, investors, fundraising activities, and meetings.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all internal databases and reports.


6. Startup League & Events Support

  • Assist in startup evaluations and cohort management activities.
  • Support execution of Startup League programs, events, and investor engagements.
  • Coordinate with founders, mentors, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned event-related tasks.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Review and evaluate 15 startup opportunities per month.
  • Submit startup analysis reports within 2–3 working days of assignment.
  • Coordinate 10–15 investor meetings every month.
  • Support a minimum of 3 fundraising mandates/projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain accurate and updated investor databases.
  • Ensure timely completion of all investor and founder follow-ups.
  • Contribute to successful execution of Startup League activities and events.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Management, or related field.
  • MBA (Finance/Entrepreneurship) preferred but not mandatory.
  • 0–2 years of experience in startups, venture capital, investment research, consulting, fundraising, or related fields.
  • Freshers with strong analytical and research skills may also apply.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Interest in startups, venture capital, fundraising, and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
