Job Title: Senior Accountant (Shipping Background)

Department: Accounts / Finance

Experience: 3+ Years (Preferably in Shipping / Logistics Industry)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with experience in the shipping or logistics industry to support daily accounting operations, billing processes, and financial documentation related to shipping activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process invoices, debit notes, and credit notes related to freight and logistics services
• Maintain and update accounts receivable and payable records
• Coordinate with operations and documentation teams for shipment-related billing
• Reconcile vendor statements, shipping line invoices, and transport bills
• Assist in bank reconciliation and ledger maintenance
• Track client payments and follow up on outstanding dues
• Maintain proper records of shipping documents and financial transactions
• Assist senior accounts staff in monthly closing and reporting
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Familiarity with shipping/logistics billing processes
• Knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (Tally or similar)
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines

Educational Qualification

B.Com / M.Com / Accounts-related qualification preferred

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with prior experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics companies will be preferred
