Role Overview
We are looking for a Jira Administrator to manage and optimize our Jira environment, enabling engineering, product, and delivery teams to collaborate efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring workflows, maintaining system integrity, improving automation, and ensuring effective usage of Jira across teams. This role requires strong Jira administration skills, process understanding, and the ability to support Agile teams in improving their project tracking and reporting practices.
Core responsibilities-
Jira Administration:
- Manage and maintain the Jira environment to ensure stability, performance, and scalability.
- Configure projects, workflows, issue types, screens, custom fields, and screen schemes.
- Administer Jira plugins and third-party integrations.
User & Permission Management:
- Manage user roles, groups, and permission schemes.
- Ensure secure access controls and compliance with organizational policies.
Automation & Customization:
- Develop and implement automation rules to streamline workflows.
- Create custom dashboards, reports, and filters using JQL.
- Configure notifications and system settings to improve team productivity.
Integrations & DevOps Support:
- Support integrations between Jira and development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence.
- Assist in optimizing Jira workflows to align with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
Support & Continuous Improvement:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Jira users.
- Identify opportunities to improve Jira adoption and processes.
- Train teams on best practices and efficient usage of Jira.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of Strong hands-on experience with Jira administration.
- Good understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, issue types, and automation rules.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, and filters using JQL (Jira Query Language).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Confluence administration.
- Exposure to DevOps tools or integrations (GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.).
- Basic understanding of REST APIs or scripting for Jira automation.
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator
- Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
