Role Description We?re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team within the financial technology sector . The ideal candidate will be a strong Java backend developer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. You?ll be responsible for designing and building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that power our next-generation financial applications. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java / Spring Boot applications ensuring scalability, reliability, and high throughput. Lead system architecture and decomposition, making key decisions on microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven flows. Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases?handling schema design, indexing, query tuning, and data integrity. Build and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Design and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring proper versioning, backward compatibility, and adherence to security standards. Drive CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and build/release processes for efficient and reliable deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams?Product, QA, DevOps, Security?to deliver robust, secure, and compliant solutions. Mentor and review the work of junior engineers, promoting clean code practices and technical excellence. Stay ahead of emerging technologies (reactive frameworks, serverless architectures, container orchestration) and advocate for continuous improvement. Qualifications 6+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience (Spring, Spring Boot, Reactive Programming). Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures with event-driven communication. Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) including performance tuning and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA). Solid experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda). Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Strong understanding of REST API design, security protocols (OAuth, JWT, TLS), and gateway management. Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is highly desirable. Exposure to financial systems (banking, payments, trading) or other regulated domains is a significant plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and guide technical decisions. Nice to Have Experience with reactive/event-driven systems and message brokers. Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, Tailwind, Bootstrap) for end-to-end system understanding. Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
